About Creativity Cafe

Creativity Cafe's Web site was begun on September 20, 1994 in preperation for the second major demonstration in physical reality (at Multimedia Expo in San Francisco) of our proposed New School for the New Millennium. Prime contributors Greg Jalbert of Imaja.com, and Fen Labalme, of Broadcatch Technologies designed and brought the site online as part of our demonstration of a New Multimedia School and Networking Center for helping to evolve our world and heal its peoples via transformational theater and interactive edutainment activities and venues.

In 1980 on July 11-12, an artist in Los Angeles received a vision of a clubhouse for creative people and social mechanism for transformation of our planet and its peoples. A month later, he nervously took the stage at the Los Angeles Department of Wather and Power to produce the first of 190 (as of this writing) visionary artists showcase and networking events.

The rapidly changing world is eclipsing our ability to fully grasp what is happening, not only to our environment, but our psyche and very critical point in the evolution of Humanity. The accelleration is due in part to advances and discovery in every corner of the arts, sciences and understanding of what our place is in the overal scheme of things.

Peter Rosen recognized that creative people are very different that most people. In order for the people of this world to shift from war to peace, and to nurture in abundance every living being, there would need to be major shifts in consciousness and understanding of "Reality." He recognized that the only way to affect change on such a global scale, was through reprogramming the humans via postive, educational and fun, life affirming media and experiences - to help "rewire the thinking of the masses and understanding of what "reality" truly is. No small task.

What is there was a place in any given neighborhood, where the creative people (problem solvers by design) could come together to meet others of the path of transformation and change, could assess what in their particular culture, needed to change in order to resolve the issues and ills of their community with creative solutions.

The vision began to pour down from the heavens as he lay away looking at the starry sky and remininsed about the Garden Theater Festival. He had seen his photography projected on a big screen, and was blown away by the impact of the greatly enlarged images. He realized that artists also have slides of their work and wouldn't it be wonderful to all get together to share images and ideas.
