Greetings Friends of Creativity Cafe, Art and Technology,

Announcing the rebirth of Creativity Cafe's COMMUNITY FORUM and upcoming "KidCast For Peace; Solutions For A Better World" NetCast, Web Site and VRML world building exhibition/competition, November 17th. Please let us know who you are, your feelings and thoughts about making this a better world in our Community Forum.

We have selected November 17, 1997 as the date for our next "KidCast For Peace; Solutions For A Better World" CyberCast, interactive music festival and VRML world exhibition. Please plan to participate. Begin to create KidCast For Peace VRML Worlds and Web Pages and be part of our CU-SeeMe Net videocast, interactive music jam and exhibition/competition.

UPDATES TO THIS RELEASE: October 24, 1997 and November 13, 1997

We are happy to announce our first participating sponsor, 3220 Networks, as our San Francisco broadcast node. Those wishing to join us LIVE and make art on the spot at VRML World Creation Stations, may do so at "Creativity Cafe for a day:" 3220 Sacramento St., in Pacific Heights, San Francisco. Our live broadcast will begin 11am PST, November 17, 1997.

As this medium is so fluid, keep an eye on the above updates, about new sponsors, interactive games, and perhaps even streaming video in KidCast Central. Participating schools and organizations have begun to identify themselves. A mailing list has been set up to facilitate communication and coordination between everyone thanks to Envirolink.org.

Please mark your calendar NOW! Begin to create your "vision of a peaceful world," and have it ready to display on, before or after November 17th. Find answers to your KidCast questions in KidCast Central: http://creativity.net/kidcast2.html. Software and other prizes will be awarded to those submissions voted most outstanding by an audience of peers. Please pass this on to those who might like to become familiar with the KidCast.

We are in the process of arranging to link up with The Fifth Annual New York Digital Salon (see below) as our New York City point of origin. A project of the School of Visual Arts, our co-sponsors for the Arts For Social Change Awards, produced by V.A.R.I.O.U.S. Media in 1989.

Basic KidCast Info: The KidCast (an ongoing project), is about creating art that describes how to make this a happier, healthier and safer world. Check out this example of a perfect KidCast For Peace web site made by Croatian Children: http://www.hrvatska.com/kidcast/index.html.

We invite K-12'ers and kids of all ages, to scan their images and produce web pages, VRML worlds, Quicktime movies or whatever; for a KidCast For Peace web site they build locally. Then, before the CyberCast, send us the URL. We link the URL to KidCast Central and to Creativity Cafe's VRML EarthStation, currently circling cyberspace.

On Nov. 17, a CU-SeeMe video conference will enable a global "living Gallery" where participants hold up their art and interact with each other. We encourage sponsors and local volunteers to step forward immediately to help with the organization. Please contact Creativity Cafe's San Francisco office to pledge your support, offer your creativity, and register your participation in our live gathering.

We encourage sponsors to organize their user base and link to KidCast Central with submissions. Please ask for a sponsor package with the specifics for this upcoming event. Thanks in advance for your support, suggestions and contributions to the success of "KidCast For Peace; Solutions For A Better World," after all, WE are inventing this event.

Wishing you much Aloha, a concerned citizen at Creativity Cafe
