I've found that what distinguishes an "artist" from a "normal" person
is that an artist always has a sense of purpose and a "normal" person
doesn't. Artists know WHY they do what they do. That's why what they do
has meaning for them. They also have far greater comprehension of the
"why"s behind the things that constitute their environment. They see
the intangible causes of tangible effects. That's why they know what things
MEAN.

Curing the ills of our "human condition" boils down to nuturing creativity.
