Aloha Friends of Creativity Cafe,
The link below shares a project and page that is a great example of how a network of Creativity Cafe nodes could operate... It seems like Creativity Cafe's and affiliate locations, could become THE PLACE (anywhere on the planet) where Flash-mobs could congregate. The C3OS (ccafe club OS) would provide personal media display and networking support through our advanced club networking systems. Proponents of change and healing, sharing mind-sets and data-sets could/would be introduced easily.
I am moved to write after discovering Freed's post (our Amsterdam associate) that speaks of new ways people are communicating intentionality for creating Peace. Check out the FlashMobs link.
I am also spurred to write by these comments, discovered at: http://www.why-war.com/features/read.php?id=4 after following some of the links at the pages Freed suggests.
The writer states:
We are just now beginning to see the Internet's first attempt to challenge the world's superpowers. By challenging Bush; which in this age necessitates an Internet connection; we are putting an emphasis on social-networks that activate and initiate actions in the material, real world. The smart mob; that we strive for is evolving before we can imagine or articulate it. We know there is power here ... somewhere.
The writer goes on:
The fundamental question still is, however, how exactly should we manifest ourselves physically. And for now it seems we are stuck with one answer: visibility. Naively thinking that the media (their media) is our sword we forget that what makes us operate now is not the television but the media materialized in our computer by the Internet.
I think the media materialized in our brains, being made visible by the computer and propigated by the Internet...is where the revolution lays.
We still we need a new kind of physical gathering place... IMHO if there were a network of Creativity Cafe Community nodes for these Cultural Creatives, not only could mentors teach youth how to use the media for personal storytelling, but those who have harnessed it for global good, could collect and collaborate, propagate and appreciate each other!
What do you think? Please post your response here after learning about Flashmobs! People in the gaming world are enjoying similar "Instant gatherings" as the net and cell phone evolutionize our world.
Have a great day!
