Believe it or not, it gets mighty cold here in paradise without a warm heart to wake up to and hug like yours. For Sept 11, I was at the Maui war memorial stadium. I was playing "We are the World" on guitar in a band and singing it with the choir for a memorial here on Maui, it was videotaped. It was my first big-time public performance on Maui. As soon as our segment in the memorial show was over, I rushed to the studios of Maui public Access TV where a co-producer of my own TV show; the Maui Artists Showcase, Three Singing Eagles, was producing her own show -- going out live (mine is tapped) to Maui and the other islands.
Its a call in show, but nobody called in... so i borrowed a cell phone and i did. I spoke of how creative this planet is...and what a waste our current versions of political and government control systems are, and how much love gets snuffed because of greed and fear, anger, jealousy and rage...which I happen to feel when I think how this world could be in Peace if not for our seeming inability to cooperate, collaborate as nations, and to commune as a planets people in Harmony with each other. "Imagine no possessions, I wonder if you can? No greed or Anger, a brotherhood of Man."
Three singing Eagles didn't have the crew (volunteer) she needed, so when I arrived unannounced, I manned the three cameras that were locked down without operators, and helped deliver some interesting images. Time for closing credits... I got out my guitar and sang COOL IN THE SHADE. I had my spotlight, liberated and shared my talent and love and considered how lucky i am to be lifted out of my depressions over the state of this world, thanks to good friends like you, my family and the great Director, upstairs.
