CALL FOR VIDEOS
Please view the current call for videos. Pitches are due back no later than Tuesday, November 6th, 9am EST. Please note: pitches received after that time cannot be considered.
#1 CALL FOR VIDEOS - RealHealth Video
Mental Health Experiences
We are looking for videos about the experience of having a mental health disorder- Bipolar disorder, Depression, Phobias, etc.
These videos would be different from a normal RealHealth story in that we want to focus on the EXPERIENCE of the disorder, rather than what it is, its symptoms, its treatments, etc.
The video would be approx. 1:15 in length and would be the person giving a 1 minute overview of their experience in a specific manner --- Here is what the outline would look like:
1. On camera the subject would say their name, age and condition
2. Then they would talk for about 30 seconds about their experience of living with their condition- how it affects their life, if they have learned to cope with it, etc
3. Subject will talk for about 15-20 seconds about what steps they've taken to cope, how effective those have been and where they are now
4. Subject gives advice (non-medical) to others who might be going through a similar experience
*Video will include B-roll
*Subject will be looking into the camera
Note: You should use the RealHealth Story Pitch form when pitching this idea
Pay Scale = $100
*The Production Time for these videos will be 10 days from the date you receive a green light, rather than 2 weeks.
#2 CALL FOR VIDEOS - RealHealth Questions
Questions About Heart and Vascular Health
Questions about heart health and heart disease- including symptoms, diagnoses and types, about maintaining heart health, about heart surgery,etc. This is a huge and very broad category. Please do your research and submit original and diverse questions. Doing so will increase your chances of receiving a green light.
PAY SCALE: $20/question
#3 CALL FOR VIDEOS - RealHealth Questions
Questions About Birth Control
Questions about choosing birth control, types of birth control, birth control methods, etc. Please don't say Proper names and think outside just "the pill." Again, more creative questions will have a better chance of being approved.

For RealQuestion pitches you can submit one pitch using the RealQuestions pitch form and upload to the RealQuestions section on the server. A pitch can have as many as 10 questions. REMEMBER - it's one person to one question! This means you can't use the same person if they have asked a RealQuestion before.
Pitch Forms and Production Guide
FOR INFORMATION ON HOW TO PITCH AND MORE click here to read our Production Guide and get the Pitch Form in Microsoft Word. All pitches MUST be submitted as outlined in the Production Guide, using a word-format pitch form and uploaded to the tv360 server. Sorry, but pitches not submitted properly cannot be considered.
PRODUCTION REMINDERS FOR QUESTIONS:
1. We need at least 5 second handles of raw footage to each question (the footage you shoot before and after the subject asks the question).
2. Codecs used when submitting final videos: When using FCP, chose either Animation, DV/DVCPRO or worst case H.264. With all of these the quality should be "best", million + colors (if there is a color option), and the size should be either 720 X 480 (4:3, not 16:9) or 720 X 486 (4:3, not 16:9)
3. NO fades between Questions.
4. NO cuts in questions
5. We will dock $5 off any questions that don't have proper handles and $5 off any appearance releases that are incomplete.
