Probably had nothing to do with Tsunami in Chile, but the next day, Feb 28, 2010 was the most amazing rainbow that stayed in the sky for the longest time, blessing everyone on the Mokulele Highway and in Kihei.

Getting more current, its been a real treat to have Annie with me on Maui. I have never had the experience of waking and going to sleep with someone on a very regular basis, and being with them almost 24/7, for weeks on end! I have turned a corner in my ability to love women (but not without rough edges). We went whale watching again for $10 each, Kama'Aina.

File this in the "Do you believe it," dept! I got a message from Facebook that my first girlfriend from some 40 years ago has surfaced and sought me out!

Her message finds me, for the first time in 30 years, living with someone!! that I feel so at peace with - that I need not look any further. This after searching for the "perfect one" for so, so long... only to realize that she wasn't appearing because *I had to be ready myself* (lose the hard, isolating edges), before a true love would appear.

I consider myself very lucky - both because I have finally found someone and because the internet connects me with so many friends, teachers and mentors from my past, people like Clelia! We'd gone thru **a lot** together! I'm glad she made contact and look forward to hearing her tales.

I remember the day I threw away the "going steady" ring I gave her: when she told me she loved the beatles, more than me! LOL ...PS I also remember the first time I was in bed with her as we heard the door open to her house, meaning her parents had come home unexpectedly early! LOL

How I met Annie

We met just before my mom's 90th birthday on Sept 25 and dated for a month before she left for a return (after 30 years visit) to her
vietnam homeland.

During that month we video chatted while she travelled. My cyber-pitching woo via iChat and Skype worked its magic (not to mention our great connection before she left when she thought I would be returning to Maui).

But as fate would have it, mom got sick. I had to stick around for an extra month while Annie travelled. Suddenly I realized if I go back to Maui, I would be alone for Thanksgiving and the Xmas holidays. It didn't make sense given what I was feeling - being with Annie.

I hadn't slept with anyone for 6 years (and that was only a two week affair), nor have I tasted relationship for the last 12 years. The last time I lived with anyone was in 1976 - only for a year.

So when I asked Anne (via video conference) if I could stay at her place for the holidays before going back to Maui, she took a big risk
and said YES. I gave her a royal tantric welcome home after picking her up from the airport -- in my mom's junked up car. We've been living together ever since.

Xmas was our third month anniversary since our meeting 9.25. I am
taking her to Maui to taste the waters there and introduce her to my friends, show her some of the other islands, and then fly back to SF to be with her kids for 6 days before returning to NJ.

Its' so great to have a sudden new home and life with a most wonderfully loving woman, and be close to my mom in her closing years at the same time. God has outdone herself once again with this arrangement! And thats just the beginning. What binds us is how well our interests, economics and persona's intersect in passions, thoughts and style of being.

Moms surgery a Big Success!

I asked her for a ride home since mom was several hrs away from full
awareness. I wanted to not drive two cars only to return w 2 cars. But
Lynn refused saying it was too far. Chech da map! Mom's is
right up the block, drive your own car she snottily delivered!

Oh well. At least MOM IS OUT OF THE THREAT OF STROKE for the moment. She has to make some real tough decisions about changing her eating habits. No small challenge there.

I've been having a great time with New Friend but...

A horrible time with my iPhone 3GS that keeps freezing on me. I make
screen captures when I can unless it locks up too badly, now at about
the rate of three times a day depending on how many apps I am
twiddling. It seems the problem always involves keyboard input. Does
anyone else have a similar issue?

First Date with Annie: Peter Yarrow Concert in Ridgefield, CT

It turns out "Ridgefield" as a city name, has yielded several gold
mines for me as Annie and I met in Ridgefield Park, NJ and now off to
see Peter Yarrow in Ridgefield, Connecticut!

Peter Yarrow and I go way back to the Songwriters Resources and
Services 1978 Songwriter Awards Ceremony for which I was photographer
and Mr. Yarrow was MC. We sat next to each other that day; and so
was the beginning of our friendship. I would later chronicle Peter's
performances at the Survival Sunday Anti-Nuclear Concerts at the
Hollywood Bowl circa 1978-1982 thanks to his getting me a backstage
pass. My documentation included travel to NYC in 1982 for the, Peter,
Paul and Mary concert part of the 1982 Peace Rally both at the UN and
in Central Park during a Concert for which I was again backstage
thanks to Peter Yarrow.

Last night I took Annie out on our "first date" to see Peter, whom I
hadn't seen since a visit circa 2002 to his NYC apartment. I asked
him to sign my guitar. Not only did he, but he also signed my right
hand with his private phone number and email. We made a pact to get
together since my stay will now be extended to accommodate mom's
pending operation.

He was so inspiring. I was taken by his low vocal tones and resonant
personality. He had written a bunch of new songs, reprised Puff the
Magic Dragon and played old folk songs like "Once I lived the Life of
a Millionaire (Ain't Nobody Love's You)" and Stewball. The audience
sang along with many of the songs we love to sing ending with Blowing
In the Wind; which he dedicated to Mary - testifying that there will
never be a replacement. It was truly the end of an era... (and
therefore the beginning of a new one).

Thats how I feel too; given the discovery of Annie; my new friend and
Rocks to DNA beauty queen model. She grabbed some great shots of
Peter signing my guitar and this one of "Brother's Peter." I will
have to post some of the other shots (I photographed the concert) up
to share with you.

I have so much to be thankful for and to cherish. Once mom gets thru
her operation, I will truly feel like new beginnings have blessed me/
us. I celebrate! Here Here! A toast to new beginnings and the
happiest of times! Oh Joy!

A Happy Happy Happy Camper

You know the feeling of being home? Well I struck it rich. I walked
into Annie's home that Sunday the day after we met. The day of the
Serendipitous Sensuous Massage Party. She had keyboards upstairs and
down. Everywhere you look there was musical instruments. It warmed my
heart. Not only that. But finally I found a female friend who's
energy compliments mine. A warm and outgoing personality, a risk
taker who is not afraid of flirting with life.

She is as happy without a man as she is with one. But I think
everybody likes to have another body to love. Perhaps our friendship
will take that direction because hugging Annie is like a dream come
true for me. Its so easy to be with her. She feels like home.

On a less happy note:
Mom is in the hospital for observation. Its never a comfortable
feeling to know your parent is so challenged that hospitalization is
needed. She has a sinus infection. But I think she suffered a mild
stroke three nights ago - that was repeated yesterday while my sister
was taking her home from the doctor, so rather than bring her home,
Lynn took her to the hospital. She's been really sick for 5 days.
I've caught the bug from her. I am happy to report its on its way out
after only two days of torment, thankfully!

Unfortunately it dashed several of my plans to get together with
friends in Manhattan and to jam with Annie and friends. Oh well. Its
all perfect and good. I am glad mom is getting a thorough check out.

Bob, Caryl, Ted and Alice? Something Crystalized!

I had taken quite a risk as a new person to the group, when I yelled and got everyone's attention (some 40+ peeps) at a NJ Musicians MeetUp. I spoke my truth about the leader of the Meetup who was playing too loud and dominating the sound, to the point of not being able to hear the other musicians. "Bob" whom I didn't know at all, came up to me after my speech and sounded his support. He whispered his thanks that I'd said something - HIS words and action was so very comforting to me.

There were violins, harmonica's, guitars, keyboards, a recorder; my instrument of the night). The pickup in my Vagabond guitar failed again, damn. Caryl was the first I'd met as I walked into this fun and friendly scene. There were loads of very talented folks all playing the music and songs I love so much. I was home! Finally in NJ.

Caryl was already friends with Bob and "Alice" - whom I was immediately attracted to when I walked into the MeetUP. You see, I had met these fine folks (and many more) at a MeetUp.com online organized event: the Bergen Country Acoustic Musician's Meetup, the day before my mothers birthday on Sept. 25th 2009. Little did I know then, that I would be landing in the midst of some very kindred spirits, fellow musicians and finally, after many years craving, meeting people with whom to play when visiting mother. I am totally grateful I've been gifted so, with these fine new friends with whom to play in the most delightful ways, a gift from God to me for my Mother's 90th Birthday!

The photo was taken two days later during an impromptu more personal jam I had arranged with Caryl and Alice. Bob little did I know had been dating C who is not a musician like the other three. She is a photographer and remains a mystery. Bob is a psychologist and Alice runs a beauty parlor. She agreed to model for my Spirit Body Process Performance Photography which I demonstrated the night I met everyone by trying a few shots in front of the Westside Village Tavern, where the group gathered on the second floor complete with bar and free food. It was a great gathering and party. I loved the band!

The event was Life Changing on account of me having so much fun with new musical friends! One of whom, might become more than a friend?

I will write more another time. I just wanted to go on record (this is being copied to my TAOSB blog). I think I have met a lady with whom the mutual attraction to music (and each other) will (I predict) prove to become significant. We already got together a second time after our first meeting. I met with she and two others from the Jam on the Sunday following Mom's Birthday.

This outstanding beauty Annie T came to pick me up and take me back to her place where the other couple were waiting for us. What transpired next was just short of amazing! The interplay of our persona's dovetailed perfectly. Bob Ted Carol and Alice like: we experienced intimacy that one would not expect on a "first date;" no less as a foursome. I'll give you a hint, the four of us wound up in bed together. Want to know more? Leave a comment ;-) (replies to this email don't count).

I was covering the 1982 Peace Rally in Central Park on behalf of
Spectrum Magazine of the Unity in Diversity Council. I had already
been friends with Peter Yarrow after meeting him while photographer
for Los Angeles' Songwriters Resources and Services (SRS which was
part inspiration for my birthing V.A.R.I.O.U.S.). I had met him
before PP&M recorded their first album when they were living
(rehearsing) in Forest Hills.

Dear Peter and Paul,

My sincere condolences on the passing of your dear friend and
bandmate. No denying now its the end of an era, but many of us
(millions and millions) are remembering Mary fondly. Like myself, I
will always be singing your songs of love, peace, politics and the
land & life we live. May you find a third once more and carry on!
Did mary have a daughter/singing sister? Do you know someone?

Will The Tooth Fairey Visit?

They didn't do the root canal I had expected on tooth 31. The tooth is not completely dead. One lone filling remains and will be buried under the crown. Dr. Brath left a filling that had remained despite this tooth's history**! I have never squirmed so much under the dental drill! You'd think I was faking a painful root canal, NOT. But even after 4 injections of into different locations to numb the nerves, I was still twitching and pulling away from the drill; tearing down the tooth #31's outer surfaces below the gum. Here's a still!

They Killed My Favorite Tree

I just heard from my mother that the management of her domicile has "determined" the tree housing the squirrel families I have been documenting for the last 4 years, is to be cut down. Yesterday they did it!

I was so disappointed that Mom was unable/didn't make an effort to document this sacrilegious act either as it was happening (she says it was over before she knew it while she was still in bed) or after. She described the pieces of tree below her window and yet, still claimed she was unable to document it (after we had discussed it the day before the tree chopping).

Needless to say I am very sad that my perfect perch for studying and documenting the Squirrels of Turtle Tree Falls, a famed spot in North New Jersey's Squirrel Square district.

The tree choppers claimed the tree was dead. It was not! I have photos of the buds, leaves and lives of the creatures that used, lived and died in and on that tree!! I will publish my "findings" for your enjoyment. All I need is one person to say, let me see what you've got! Leave a comment to that effect and it shall be done. I will post especially for you!

I will make the time to post an addition to my already in progress ode to Squirrels Site.

I cry a tear for my mother with all her piles of stuff

maybe its a sign that she feels not loved enough

I cry tears for my sister, and the lazy man she wed

who doesn't lift a finger to help out, you might just think he's dead

I cry a tear for my father with his defibrilated heart,

though it continues beating, no new path can he start.

I cry a tear for myself, with every mornings pain

that surely has me in its grips, I may never feel joy again

I cry a tear for our world, that lives with such misery,

from the homeless to the hungry, to the rich that can not see.

I cry a tear for my country, guided by blinded fools,

who feed their dreams with ignorance, taking nourishment from cesspools.

I cry a tear for humanity, in its tormenting change of life,

and the countless souls that come once more to overcome thier strief.

PS: My dad passed August 14th, 2007. I went to a Kaballah Workshop and discovered that Aug 14-15 is a sacred and special time.

I tweaked it a bit, but other than a word or two, it's as I wrote it!

Day before Yesterday was-is momentous (Tuesday) in that Emily (accompanied by drama) came to pick up her things. I told her I loved her again... and that I'm her friend. She came after calling that she was on her way to pick up her suitcase, that just after her father sick'd the police on me telling them she's a missing person (to him). As a result the cop called about her and wanted me to fwd emails.

I had been worried since I'd not heard from her for a week... and so called her mom and dad since emails to Emily were not responded to, and no call from her came in in response to phone messages. It reached a week of no contact with me housing her stuff (only, rather than helping her with a place for her to stay as well as her bags). So I sent out an SOS. Her military father considered my call to him a thankful heads up. In his own words, "We've been estranged for three years" and now "she's also estranged from her mother... we thought she was with a school friend." They had no idea she was on Maui. Whoooops!

The next thing I know Emily makes contact, followed by a call back from her father. I told him what I knew and things escalated. He wanted me to release her things to some guy. I told him I have an agreement with Emily to hold them for her and when she comes to get them, I will be happy to honor my word to her. I am not comfortable releasing her things to a stranger. I was fearful for her well being or I would never have brought her parents into it. If only E was a bit more responsible and considerate.

There are lessons to be learned for sure.... If you don't trust someone, what's it worth? She trusted me with her stuff. I trusted her with access to my studio. I want to help this beautiful young spirit since she's the best model I've worked with in a long time. Had she revealed a bit more about her situation (which she began to, but then pulled back), her strict father finding out her whereabouts might have been avoided. Do you think that its a good thing to part company with a parent to the point of them not knowing where you are?

I suggested to him that maybe she just needs a bit of help to buy a car; since she has secured a job with is very difficult to do on Maui. He told me that's your point of view. Then he called the cops and told them to call me. Emily is a great gal, but unfortunately she crossed a few of my boundaries with broken agreements (on more than one occasion which greatly saddened me) because that prevented my trusting her. So, she came and got her suitcases and other things. I gave her the missing persons report number as well as the cops phone and email.

I hope she will say in touch but I kind of think, despite my offering to employ her modeling services for actual cash, Emily is moving on. Time will tell as it always does. I'm glad to be out of yet another drama created by hosting a needy soul.

Meanwhile Yesterday was Momentous. I got to visit briefly with Stefani and David and meet their friends. My day began at 3am when I finally finished making reservations for travel to my Mom's 90th BIRTHDAY Celebration! Finished the party invitation, bought 4 new tires: ($400), got blood taken for first time in too many years on the way to the Dentist in Lahaina (Dr. Brath) who finished filling my tooth.

I hung out (after replacing my little wooden travel pipe I had to buy for the third time - as I keep losing them) at Barns and Nobel setting up my laptop office and working until Stef and crew arrived. Then continued to hang out and work until darkness hoping to find a spirit Body DNA model. I found something better. The waitress for the next table was hypnotizingly beautiful. I asked if I might photograph her and if she was available. She told me she worked three jobs, but did give me what I hope is her real number. Time will tell. It always does. (damn, she never responded to my messages left on a "naked" voice mail, i.e not personalized.)

Meanwhile, things have slowed down with VMI team building. JP is coming over tonight to make music. Something I haven't done with anyone for a year as the days of Shiloh Bones Band rehearsals are long gone... FOR NOW... time will tell when the music cycle will come round for me again. Hopefully, my potential new friend will also become my muse. Emily almost had that role, but alas, she is lost in her own world. Are you? Am I? Time will tell. Why? Because...
