A funny thing Happened on the Way to the Reef

I never made it, because I got caught in my own trap! Here's the deal...

I spent hours trying to find out what it was, what it meant and how it got there? I started removing software and restarting. I scoured the net for references to C3OS. I called Applecare support and spoke with second tier techs who were no help. The had me reinstall the system. Still the Mysterious text appeared!



I had just fixed the Mac of a friend who was going to be charged $600 for a mother board replacement. I took her out last Thursday and she got more than she bargained for. I fixed her Mac, but in the process may have gotten the virus or whatever was causing the text to appear in my login screen. Then I discovered, via google, this file: http://www.macworld.com/2003/08/secrets/macosxhints/ and followed the directions.


I opened the plist file and with that came the memory of ME doing the modification on the login screen of my powerbook! I got caught in my own trap! LOL HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA. The C3OS looked so familiar. Because it stands for Creativity Cafe Club Operating System, DUH! The MacWorld hint had intrigued me. On the spot, with no forethought (or after-thought) I changed the login screen for times when other eyes, might be tempted to boot my Mac with me not around. I thought the message might get them scared that they are being watched! Well IT WORKED!!

As soon as I opened the .plist file as directed in the , I remembered writing the words MYSELF! Talk about how overloaded one becomes when nursing cyber babies, as well as attending to all ones' relationships in physical reality~!
