==================================================================
Basic Background Information
==================================================================
This next "KidCast For Peace" gathering, will bridge many live, interactive
events around the world on April 22nd, 1998. It begins a series of CU-SeeMe
Netcasts to culmanate in a special awards ceremony during Siggraph98 in
Orlando, Florida.
KidCasting involves the kid-in-you making art (drawings, websites,
VRML worlds) that describe how to make this a happier, healthier and safer
world. Then joining in a video conference where participants hold up their work
to the cameras, and interact with everyone else in the CU-SeeMe reflector network.
A live Natural Instrument Jam and realtime MIDI Music Jam Channel will melt the
language barrier. Participants will direct us to their web site/world displaying
their PRE-CONSTRUCTED submissions (if possible). We encourage YOU to get your
submission to us before April 17th. Send your URL and be linked to KidCast Central,
and to our VRML EarthStation currently circling cyberspace.
We ask that you help give the leaders of tomorrow a place for making
their feelings and ideas known today to inspire and educate. V.A.R.I.O.U.S.,
is primary sponsor of the event. We believe the children who shall inherit the earth,
should have a voice in shaping it...that the "adults" could stand to learn a thing or
two from the innate wisdom embodied in the "child" within.
While this event is targeted at K-12 and youth, we encourage EVERYONE to let
the "kid-in-you" out for this onging event.

Goals Of The KidCast Project
==================================================================
KidCast For Peace Web Sites on servers all over the planet will remain as a
repository of wisdom of the people of planet Earth...the VRML EarthStation,
a time capsule circling cyberspace, is ready to be added to on an ongoing basis.
There are many solutions to the personal and global challenges that face us
in these dynamic days of change....wisdom comes from a higher source. We believe
that people of all ages--tapping into the creative force--can turn things around in
a "second" and transform a world that has been constantly at war, fighting the
ravages of starvation, homelessness, disease, poverty, and fear...into a world of
synergy and PRONOIA.
KidCast For Peace is designed to tap into this great wealth of our most abundant
resource...the children, and the creative spark in all of us! Participate and share
your hopes and dreams for a more positive future. We encourage you to organize
your local community, gather in schools, cybercafes, art centers, etc., and join
those in homes participating in our global KidCast Community Forum.
Please pass this information on to those whom you think would appreciate it.

Peter,
I've taken a look at the Creativity Cafe site and it looks wonderful! I
will certainly pass word of your project to teachers and students across
our network. Is there more information I should have beyond what is on the
sites?
We'd also love to get folks at the Creativity Cafe involved with global
collaborations and community building through the I*EARN network. You
might get a kick out of looking around our site a little, and I'll also put
some information in the mail to you today.
Best wishes with your work!
Warmly,
Lisa

"KidCast For Peace; Solutions For A Better World"
Children Gather In CyberSpace To Assist Adults in Solving Global Issues
On November 17, 1997, "KidCast For Peace; Solutions For A Better World" an
Internet multicast, will enable a global gathering of "kids-of-all-ages" in
schools, cybercafes, at home and in art centers to suggest how "the
adults," can make this a happier, healthier, safer and more peaceful world.
They will meet in real and virtual worlds to offer creative solutions to
planetary problems. Instructions, documented sites, and the companies,
individuals and organizations supporting this event can be found in KidCast
Central (http://creativity.net/kidcast2.html), a "Peace Place" on the
Internet.
This fifth Netcast features analog and digital art, KidCast For Peace
personal Web sites, VRML worlds and interactive jam sessions using
instruments made from materials found in nature. Grab this kid-in-you
opportunity to gather with kindred spirits in a Cyberspace Cu-SeeMe
videoconference to help transform humanity's shortsightedness into
opportunities for positive evolution.
"The Internet and it's virtual communities offer fantastic new ways to tap
into our creative potential and find collaborative solutions for personal
and planetary ailments. 'KidCasting' empowers the Storytellers of the Next
Millennium," says Peter Rosen--founder of V.A.R.I.O.U.S.; Visionary
Artists Resources Including Other Unique Services, and executive
coordinator of KidCast For Peace.
The November event set the stage for this Earthday98 KidCast. Which in turn
will point the energy toward the SigKids area of SIGGRAPH'98; an International
Computer Graphics Convention in Orlando, Florida in July. A special
KidCast there will be interactive TO THE MAX! Find the latest updates in
Creativity Cafe's Community Forum.
Have fun! Make some art! Share your Heart!!
Those wishing to join us and make art LIVE on the spot
at KidCast Creation Stations, may do so at "Creativity Cafe for a day:" on Maui
and elsewhere, locations to be announced.
Let your imagination run wild and begin now to express your visions of
peace. Plan to build a personal KidCast Web Page and/or VRML World in time
for our global gathering and videoconference on the Internet (send us the
URL). The CU-SeeMe KidCast, will facilitate a global "Living Gallery"
where participants hold up their art and interact with each other. We
encourage local volunteers to step forward immediately to help with the
organization where ever you are? Organize children in your area and guide
their participation in our CU-SeeMe Netcast.
To continue these exciting programs, V.A.R.I.O.U.S. relies upon
generous community and corporate participation and sponsorship.

the vision of a network of Creativity Cafe's around the world that are live

learn from each other and have a forum for showcasing and innovatively
marketing their work, talents and skills. Since 1980 we have been creating
demonstration physical environments and events where "Strangers, are

Members of V.A.R.I.O.U.S. have created many physical demonstrations of
